this phishing email (see figure 8) was sent from the spoofed email address at&t ( [emailprotected] [.]in), contained the subject at&t account recovery out for delivery on 15 dec 21. the attacker was trying to lure the victim to click on a malicious link ( [emailprotected] [.]in) which redirects the user to a fraudulent at&t site that looks like the real website (see figure 9). in the malicious link, the user was prompted to key-in their email and password.
phishing emails that look like they come from a legitimate company may contain a fraudulent link that, when clicked, directs the victim to a malicious website that steals the users credentials or installs malware on their computer. users should check the spelling and grammar of the email carefully before clicking on the link, and never click on any link that looks suspicious or has a url that is unfamiliar to them.
facebook phishing email threat analysis we see that the url of the malicious url is [emailprotected] [.]ir and the email contains a link to [emailprotected] [.]es. the attacker is trying to trick users into clicking the malicious link, instead of going to the original dhl page. the fake dhl page was designed to look as the original one, but it only contains a small copy of the original logo at the bottom of the page, and its an obviously fake site. it is very easy to detect a fake website. if you look carefully at the url of the page, you will notice that the original dhl logo is not there. this is an attempt to mislead you to think that it is the real website.
